A 3-hour workshop on embodied connection in dementia care at the 60th Annual American Dance Therapy Association Conference co-led by Dr. Cecilia Fontanesi and myself. We will be addressing the role that dance/movement therapy plays in improving the quality of life for people with dementia when offered sensitively and by attuning to the individuals present, vitality being among the many benefits. As a neurobiologist, Dr. Fontanesi will also be articulating neuroscientific findings that support our empirical findings.
