Bringing Dance to Older Adults and People with Dementia, Virtual Training


Learn the skills to engage, inspire and uplift older adults and people with dementia through dance and expressive movement.

Dance therapist Donna Newman-Bluestein will present this training virtually with the help of Heather Hill of Australia to transform the culture of care for people with dementia to one that is relationship-centered through dance and embodied caregiving.

Workshop topics include:

  • aspects of dementia relevant to bringing dance

  • elements of dance

  • group leadership

  • theory

  • identifying benefits

  • model program, adaptable for your dance style, strengths, and clients

Tuesdays, 6 - 9 am, Sept 5, 12, 19, 26, and Oct 3 (SGP) 

Tuesdays, 7 - 10 am, Sept 5, 12, 19, 26, and Oct 3( KOR) 

Tuesdays, 8 - 11 am, Sept 5, 12, 19, 26, and 9-12* am Oct 3 (AUS)
